Smashing Hits! The Pop Map of Britain and Ireland is a celebration of the creativity behind a golden decade for British and Irish music.

From London’s New Romantics to the madness of late 80s Madchester; from ska in Coventry to Glasgow’s penchant for country-influenced music; from Sheffield’s electro noiseniks to Ireland’s Celtic mysticism – this was a decade of great music emerging from distinct local scenes.
