HR was a bit of a career change for Charlie, as before joining True North she was a bar tender and a part-time musician! She fell into HR about 5 years ago, working for a food production company and ended up moving to one of their sites in Wales.

For the past 3 years, she was a HR Advisor at an Adult Social Care company, making sure everything ran smoothly as possible – this was particularly challenging when COVID hit! She finished her CIPD Level 5 in April 2021 and then decided to start a degree in Sociology with the OU in October 2021, doing this alongside her role at True North.

What do you do at True North?

I do all things HR! So far, lots of contract production, but I’m hoping to get really involved with the employee wellbeing side of things as this is a big passion of mine.

Anything that stands out about your career?

At my previous company I implemented a few different toolkits to support people whilst at work, including one focusing on the menopause and one on substance misuse – I really enjoyed working on the substance misuse toolkit as this is something very close to my heart and I think its super important!  

 What’s your favourite bit of your job?

The fact that there is so much room for growth – I’m really excited to get stuck in!

Anything else you would like to tell us about yourself?

The key to my heart is Greggs Sausage Rolls and Fanta 😊
