True North named amongst most influential in Northern creative sector
7th July

True North co-founders Jess Fowle, Andrew Sheldon and Glyn Middleton along with MD Marc Allen are amongst the first people to be named in the Prolific Northerners list of the most influential media and creative industry figures.
Selected by a panel of judges, along with research conducted by the Prolific North editorial team and suggestions submitted by readers of the popular site, the True North team are amongst the first names to be announced. Referencing the company’s impressive period of growth, True North’s achievements were singled out as “the perfect riposte to anyone bemoaning the magnetic drift of all Northern TV production to MediaCityUK”.
The recognition comes after being named Best Independent Production Company at the Prolific North Awards in May as well as receiving the ‘Yorkshire Centre Award’ from the RTS, a special accolade acknowledging True North’s stand-out contribution to TV production in the North over the past decade.
True North co-founder and Creative Director, Glyn Middleton, commented: “We’d like to say thanks to Prolific North, the panel of judges and our supporters in the region for yet another gratefully received acknowledgement of the hard work and creative endeavour that has gone into getting True North where it is today. There really hasn’t been a better time to be part of the team here and we’re delighted to be recognised for playing our part in defining what the creative and media industries in the north stand for.”
