True North heads to the coast with Dame Darcey

Next summer, the final section of the England Coast Path will be completed and at 2,800 miles long, it’ll be the longest route of its kind in the world.

To celebrate, Dame Darcey Bussell will be swapping ballet shoes for walking boots and choosing four routes that capture the best that the wild and wonderful British coastline has to offer for a brand new More4 series.

Over four parts, each episode will see Darcey walk a favourite section taking in the glorious scenery, meeting those who make living by the sea a reality and celebrating those whose daily existence is entwined with the ebb and flow of the tides along our diverse coastline.

The series was commissioned by Sean Doyle, Channel Four’s deputy head of features and formats, and will be executive produced by True North creative director Andrew Sheldon.

“Dame Darcey is a real national treasure, and we’re really excited about being with her as she visits some of the most beautiful coastline in Britain, and we think the viewers will love it too’, said Sheldon.
