RTS reward Carol's outstanding contribution to TV in Yorkshire

True North’s Head of Production Carol McKenzie deservedly picked up an Outstanding Contribution Award at the RTS Yorkshire 2017 awards on Friday night.

The RTS Yorkshire Centre panel recognised Carol’s passion, dedication and commitment to television in the region over the past 30 years. It’s a career that’s taken her from trainee PA at Yorkshire TV to the Head of Production for the whole of ITV Factual, before joining True North as the company’s Head of Production in 2009.

“There are many shows that would never have made it to the screen without Carol’s drive and passion. She is truly an unsung hero,” said the judges.

True North’s Creative Director, Andrew Sheldon, added: “Carol is the epitome of someone at the top of her game, who has chosen to build her career in Yorkshire, and is therefore an entirely deserving candidate for the RTS Yorkshire Outstanding Contribution Award.

“Her positive stance and sage approach mean that she is looked up to and admired by everyone at True North, and liked and respected by everyone she works with both inside and outside of the company.”

True North also picked up another RTS Yorkshire award on the night when The Lie Detective collected the prize for Professional Excellence: Factual Production.
