MTV UK’s ‘The Valleys’ Commissioned for a Third Series

MTV UK has greenlit a third series of The Valleys. The show, produced by True North, will begin casting immediately for broadcast in Spring 2013.
The second series of The Valleys, which finished airing in June 2013, built on the amazing success of the first season reinforcing its position as MTV’s 2nd highest rating programme in its UK history. Over the course of the series and all transmissions, The Valleys reached 2.6 million individuals (4+), 2.4 million adults and 1.1 million 16-34s. The series averaged an audience of 563k Individuals (4+), 515k Adults (16+) and 356k 16-34’s, surpassing its slot average by over 5 times for all key demographics. As a series, The Valleys ranked as the No.1 programme in its slot on the pay platform for 16 – 34s.
Trending on Twitter from the moment the first promo was aired and then every week of its run, The Valleys regularly topped the SecondSync leaderboard as the most talked about programme in its time slot.
The Valleys is commissioned by Kerry Taylor, Senior Vice President, youth and music, VIMN and SVP, General Manager, MTV for VIMN UK and Steve Regan, VP, Production. It will be executive produced by Steve Regan and Fiona O’ Sullivan, True North.
