The Lie Detective picks up O2 award

True North’s entertainment format The Lie Detective claimed the Best Entertainment Programme crown at the North West O2 Media Awards in Manchester.

It narrowly pipped another True North show – Teen Mom UK – to the prize at the ceremony held at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

The highly-charged factual reality series lets us eavesdrop on exes and current couples as they have the most honest conversation of their lives with the help of polygraph examiner Daniel Ribacoff.

Fiona O’Sullivan, Executive Producer, said: ““I’m so proud of The Lie Detective – it’s one of the most original shows I’ve ever been part of and a career highlight for most of us who worked on it. Thanks to the O2 judges for the recognition and a great night at The Etihad. (Sorry to any Manchester United fans reading this!)”

The Lie Detective has delivered True North a number of accolades since its launch.  The show was shortlisted for a C21 Format Award, won an RTS Yorkshire Award, picked up a Prolific North Award and is also entered for an International Emmy.

It was also one of the key titles featured at The Wit in MIPCOM 2016 and a viral clip of the show has already notched up almost 7 million views.
