Fiona O'Sullivan promoted to Creative Director

True North has promoted Fiona O’Sullivan to Creative Director.

The former Head of Factual Entertainment and Reality joins founders and existing Creative Directors Jess Fowle and Andrew Sheldon in “leading the company to its next phase of growth”.

O’Sullivan joined the Leeds-based company – the North’s biggest factual indie – in 2012 after a career spanning BBC, ITV, Talkback Thames and Lime Pictures.

Since then she’s secured commissions and executive produced programmes for broadcasters including Channel 4, Channel 5 and MTV.

She set up and runs True North’s MediaCityUK office, where she is currently overseeing Season 7 of MTV’s reality series Teen Mom UK.

True North, whose other series have include A New Life in the Sun for Channel 4 and Junior Vets/Ultimate Vets for CBBC, was acquired by Sky in 2017. Channel 4 had previously taken a minority stake in the company in 2014.

Fowle said: “Fiona is both incredibly talented and hugely energetic. She has delivered a number of brilliant brands for True North and, through her enthusiasm and creativity, become a crucial part of the company’s DNA.

“All eyes are on the North of England and, with Fiona joining us at the helm we’re determined to lead the way in generating a new wave of diverse and distinctive content.”
