Presented by Matt Baker and Michaela Strachan, Animal Rescue Squad follows the frontline fight to save endangered species, wild animals and domestic pets at home and abroad.
In series one, which transmitted in Spring 2008, Michaela and the team travelled to South Africa, Florida and California to meet the people and projects working to save exotic wild animals. Following the tough rescue and conservation work these projects carry out, the team discover the battle to save a wide array of animals - from elephants to manatees.
Meanwhile, our UK based teams worked with wildlife and pet rescue centres across the country, as well as following the busy lives of the staff working in one of the North East's biggest veterinary practices.
In series two (August 2008) Michaela and Matt ventured to Canada and California to follow animal rescue and protection work; and we returned to Jason and the vets in the North East.
