For some serving their country is not the biggest challenge; it's what happens afterwards.
Colonel Tim Collins meets veterans of Afghanistan, Iraq and Northern Ireland who've returned to Civvy Street to find their service for Queen and country counts for little. He also meets the families who struggle to cope with the men who went off to war, only to return home as strangers.
Approximately 20,000 men and women leave the armed forces each year and this number will only increase with the onset of cuts. Most will transfer back into civilian life without problem but a significant minority will struggle.
Colonel Collins’ journey takes him across Britain to find out how these veterans are affected and what can be done to help.
