'Killer Couples' Leads Crime & Investigation's HD Relaunch

13th November 2008

True North’s series Killer Couples is the Crime and Investigation Network’s first HD commission since the channel re-launched in High Definition in November 2008.

The series, fronted by best-selling crime author Mark Billingham, goes in search of the unique circumstances that bring two people together, before they go on to commit mass killings.

Across four parts, Mark Billingham travels the UK on a journey to get under the skin of the four couples - Moors Murderers Myra Hindley and Ian Brady, John Duffy and David Mulcahy – the Railway Killers, Roy Hall and Michael Kitto - the Butler and his Apprentice, and the wannabe Bonnie and Clyde Lee Whiteley and Deborah Taylor.

The series was commissioned by Crime & Investigation’s Senior Manager, Programme Content, Louise Dillon, and Executive Produced for True North by Glyn Middleton. The series producer/director is Luke McLaughlin.

Killer Couples is due for transmission on Crime & Investigation HD in early 2009, and is being distributed internationally by Passion Distribution.
