BBC commissions fourth series of Animal 24:7

20th December 2007

True North have been commissioned for a fourth series of Animal 24:7. The observational series, which follows people working to save and protect animals throughout the country was first broadcast on BBC1 in Autumn 2007.

September 2008 saw the second series peak at 1.2 million viewers a day in the 9:15am slot, proving strong competition for ITV1’s Jeremy Kyle Show.

The production team are currently putting the finishing touches to the third series of the show, due to transmit in Spring 2008, and will begin production on the fourth series of twenty episodes in early 2008.

Series three and four will see the familiar format return to weekday mornings at 9:15, but thanks to a longer production period, the team have been able to follow some of the RSPCA’s more shocking cases of animal cruelty.
