Animal Rescue Squad: New True North series coming to Five.

20th December 2007

True North has been commissioned to make an exciting new animal series for Five. The channel’s Director of Programmes Jay Hunt and Wildlife & Factual Acquisitions Editor, Bethan Corney, commissioned True North to make the 30x30m Animal Rescue Squad which will air in Five’s 18:30 slot every weeknight from February.

Presented by Matt Baker and Michaela Strachan, the series follows the care and conservation of animals in the UK and abroad. True North’s teams spent three weeks working in South Africa and the USA, to follow exotic and unusual conservation projects involving an array of animals from dolphins and manatees to elephants and seals.

In the UK, the teams have been working with a number of different programmes and projects across the country. Animal Rescue Squad mixes these UK and international projects with a daily strand following the working lives of a large vet’s practice in the North East.

Animal Rescue Squad is Series Produced by Sallie Leak and Executive Produced by Jess Fowle and Mark McMullen
